Leonel Marines has served as the executive director of Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers since 2023. His responsibilities in this position include overseeing strategic initiatives, staff development, and financial management, including fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement. Leonel Marines is further tasked with providing the board with quarterly reports that assess organizational performance and program outcomes, among other executive duties.
As the director of Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida, Leonel Marines works closely with individuals and families throughout the community who have been impacted by epilepsy. In addition to managing operations, he strives to advocate for these community members and support them as they navigate a variety of medical, social, and financial challenges.
Leonel Marines holds a juris doctor from Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from Florida State University. Beyond his work as the executive director of Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida, he enjoys following the Florida State Seminoles and the San Francisco 49ers football. He is also an English as a Second Language teacher with Project Light.
